You Know

You know who you are.
I'm talking to you.
Not out loud,
Lest they think I've lost it.

You know what I'm fearful to say,
What I've been feeling for days.
I need you to speak to me,
To help me figure this out.

I need you to pass this along
To the one who needs to hear it--
And as vague as this sounds,
You know exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm in a state of crisis,
I need to hear clearly from above.
This is not a joke,
This is a heart's cry for direction.

There is no one else I care to hear from--
I need to hear from YOU.
Take this simple poem
As a not-so-simple cry for help.

I could really make a mistake here,
If I do this on my own.
I could really devastate my family,
The generations to come.

Speak to me, this night--
As clearly as you ever have before.
Because I'm not sure how much longer
I can keep this up without you.
